JL Osborne Gross Weight Increase Approved for Turboprop Bonanzas

 

 

The FAA has added Soloy/Tradewind Turbine turboprop conversion Bonanzas to J.L. Osborne’s approved Gross Weight Increase (GWI) for Beechcraft Model 36 Bonanzas modified with its tip tank Supplemental Type Certificate (STC). Osborne’s GWI STC features the highest approved landing weight, 4024 pounds. This increases the maximum takeoff weight of 1968-1983 Model 36 and A36 Bonanzas by 424 pounds, and 1984 and after A36s and G36s by 374 pounds. The airplane may be operated with empty tip tanks, allowing the pilot to utilize the entire GWI in cabin payload. The airplane remains certified in the Utility category up to the original maximum gross weight, and in the Normal category above that weight to the 4024 pound maximum. Our interim Gross Weight Increase Supplement revision is NOW FAA Approved
OSBORNE's POHS revision affords the "Highest Tip Tank Kit net Gross Weight Increase" on the market.

Why? Aluminum Construction. J.L. OSBORNE's Tip Tank Kit weighs less than any other 20 gallon tip tank system on the market.
OSBORNE's total System increases the existing aircraft's empty weight by only 19.2lbs. (selector valve) and 27.3lbs. (transfer).

This Renders the highest net useful load available [171.7lbs. to 179.8lbs.] for a standalone Tip Tank Kit system. Our GWI requires no additional modifications to qualify.
